With the recent growth of trail and ultra running, it's great to see more stores offering a wider selection of trail running shoes. Mountain Equipment Co-op just updated their website and now offers what I believe to be the largest selection of La Sportiva trail shoes in Canada. They currently have 5 different La Sportiva models in stock including the Raptor (new for 2010), Wildcat, Wildcat GTX (Goretex), Imogene and my beloved Crosslites.

Love the look of the Raptor, how do you find they compare to the beloved Crosslites?
ReplyDeleteRaptors are closer in design (though slightly lighter) to a Wildcat than a Crosslite.
ReplyDeleteThey have the same sort of feel as a Wildcat. Possibly a little more stabil and supportive midsole. The upper offers a nice snug fit around your midfoot and also repels water very well, even though it's not Goretex. I really like the Raptors for days when my feet and legs feel a little beat up and I can benefit from a slightly more protective shoe than the Crosslites. Also great for really gnarly, technical trails.
